Midwifery

To start a career in midwifery without formal qualifications, you can take an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health or Midwifery. This one-year course (or two years part-time) provides the foundational knowledge needed for a midwifery degree.

Once you complete the Access course, you can apply for a 3-year midwifery degree through UCAS. This degree combines academic study with clinical placements, and after graduation, you’ll register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to practise as a midwife. Financial support, such as Advanced Learner Loans and student loans, may be available for both Access courses and university studies.

Doula Training
